  Wat Pahk Khao Sahn Tai

Thailand

Wat Pahk Khao Sahn Tai is a  Buddhist temple in Saraburi that features several statues of Thao Wetsuwan, a yak or giant guardian, here depicted with a red complexion, and with his attendant Phaya Purisat, on either side.

These mythological creatures are depicted as a half-lion, half-giant-angel (fig.), and are here also depicted with a red complexion, whereas the sentinel portrayed with a red skin means that he is of Tavatimsa level and is then also referred to as Thao Wetsuwan Thepbut Sutthep, and also labelled Thao Wetsuwannoh, as well as Yak Wat Tai. Two statues of this guardian also flank one of the temple's entrances.
