  French Indochinese Piastre

Vietnam

Between 1885 and 1952, the currency in French Indochina was officially known as the Piastre and the value on the banknotes was printed in multiple languages.

These were: French, Chinese, Khmer, Lao, and Vietnamese, and the legal tender for the latter was then already referred to as Dong, which today is still the name of the currency of Vietnam.
