This Gia Rai funeral hut of the Arap subgroup consists of a structure with a low thatched roof and encircled with a fence, adorned with wood carvings.

Those carvings depict both pregnant women and sexually explicit figures, reminiscent of those at Akha spirit gates (fig.), and are fertility symbols intended to accompany the dead in the afterlife, thus suggesting that life does not end after death.
