  Four-faced Ganesha

Thailand

A golden statue of the Hindu deity Ganesha (fig.), depicted with four faces. This statue is understood to be a Thai interpretation of Dvija Ganapati, in which the scholarly identity of ‘Ganesha, the Twice-born Lord’ is preserved while additional protective attributes of Shiva are integrated into this single standing image.
