Craftsmen in Bagan making conical food containers in the form of a lotus (fig.) using bamboo strips.
These strips (fig.) are assembled and neatly fashioned to form a vessel.
The vessels are then topped with a peak carved from wood and covered with a clay-like primer.
In the final phase of the production the hsun ok, known in Thai as tiab, are covered with several layers of lacquer.
