A woman making thanaka. She rubs the bark of a chunk of wood from the Wood-apple Tree (fig.) on a stone slab in order to obtain a powder, which she then mixes with water. The wet paste is then applied onto the face as a decoration (fig.) or sun block, as can be seen on her own face.
