  Terracotta Warriors

The first pit at the Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum Site Museum in Xi'an, which is guarded by a life-sized army of Terracotta Warriors and used as a tomb for the first emperor of an imperial and unified China.

 

There are three large pits containing the Terracotta Army, with the total number of figures buried estimated at about 8,000 soldiers, 130 quadrigae (fig.) with 520 horses, and 150 cavalry horses, the majority of these are still buried in the pits.
