  Sangkhlaburi Pagoda

Thailand

The gilded satellite pagoda of Wat Wang Wiwekaram (fig.) in Sangkhlaburi is built in the style of the Maha Bodhi pagoda in Bodh Gaya (India) and has an amalaka ornament (fig.) at the top, underneath the chattra. It is one of several pagodas in Thailand that are built similar to the Maha Bodhi pagoda in India. Others include those of Wat Yahn in Chonburi (fig.) and Wat Mahathat Wachiramongkon in Krabi (fig.).
