Although there is significant scientific proof that the scales of pangolins have no more therapeutic value than human fingernails,  these animals are still in great demand in China, where their scales are used in traditional medicine.

This mounted individual is on display at the Huqing Yutang Chinese Medicine Museum, a museum of Chinese traditional and herbal medicine, in the Old Quarter of Hangzhou.
