A
haang hod,
or
hin hod nahm (fig.) as it is called in
northern Thailand, is
an ornamented,
trough-like receptacle in the form of a
naga.
Its is
used by the villagers to
pour perfumed water over Buddhist monks in a promotion
ceremony, known as
kong hod.
This one is stored
away in a temple in Luang Prabang,
Laos.
