herbal compress
In traditional Thai massage no oil is used, but sometimes a hot herbal compress, i.e. a steamed ball with medicinal herbs named look prakob samunphrai, is applied to warm and soothe the receiver's body.
The herbs on display here include kaffir limes and kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass, ginger, salt, galingale (fig.) and turmeric (fig.), but also other herbs can be used.
