Thailand

Wat Sri Umohng Kham is a Lan Na-style Buddhist temple built in 1846 AD on a prominent hill in the city of Phayao, and was formerly known as Wat Soong, i.e. the ‘High Temple’.

The artificial hill on which it is built was formed by the heaped-up earth that came from the digging of a pond.
