  Wat Chiang Yeun (Chiang Mai)

Thailand

Wat Chiang Yeun, in the northern Thai town of Chiang Mai, served as a royal temple during the Mengrai Dynasty and played a key role in the coronation ceremonies and religious practices of Lan Na kings.

It has an octagonal whitewashed chedi adorned with porcelain flower motifs and a sala with two Tagundaing poles (fig.), each topped with a Hamsa figure and crowned with a multi-tiered hti, contributing to the temple’s Burmese character.
