  Sunthorn Ratchawongsa

Statue of Phra Sunthorn Ratchawongsa, the first ruler of Yasothon, who reigned from 1814 to 1823 AD, and for whom the city, initially known as Meuang Yot Sunthorn, was named.

 

He is also known as Chao Kham Singh, sometimes referred to was Thao Kham Singh, and is a son of Faay Nah, who was promoted to the third and new ruler of the Lan Xang Champasak Kingdom by King Rama I (fig.) for successfully fighting on his side, as well as on that of earlier Siamese Kings in various campaigns.
