An effigy at the Pindaya Caves in Myanmar's Shan State (fig.) depicts Prince Kummabhaya shooting his arrow at the giant spider from legend.

According to this legend, the giant spider had captured seven princesses, whom it had trapped in the cave. By killing the spider, the prince was able to liberate those princesses (fig.).
