  Prasat Vimean Koh Pos

Cambodia

Located along the west bank of the Mekhong River in Kien Svay district of Cambodia's Kandal Province, just south of the capital Phnom Phenh, lay the Khmer temple Prasat Vimean Koh Pos.

Though appearing less friendly, the four faces on the main tower are reminiscent of those on the Bayon prang, Angkor Thom (fig.), as well as those on its South Gate (fig.). Unlike to latter two, the eyes of these are open, against downcast, and there is hardly a grimace on the mouths.
