Inspiring words against a
relevant backdrop: 1. ram ruay (ร่ำรวย), i.e.
‘wealth’,
represented by
Koi Carps,
symbols of wealth and fortune, akin to
goldfish,
which in
China
are considered wealth symbols, because in Chinese fish are
called yú (鱼), a word with the same sound as yú (逾) meaning
‘to exceed’ and yú (余), meaning ‘surplus’, and –although
with a different tone– it sounds also somewhat similar to
yù
(玉), which means
‘jade’;
2. chohk dih/choke dee (โชคดี), i.e. ‘good luck’,
represented by a four-leaf clover, a rare variation of the
common three-leaf clover or shamrock, which is believed to
bring good luck to those who find it; 3. sukhaphaap dih (สุขภาพดี),
i.e. ‘good health’, represented by a
turtle, a
symbol for longevity; 4. mih khwaamsuk/mee khwamsook (มีความสุข),
i.e. ‘being
happy’,
represented by a
rainbow,
which is a symbol of happiness. |
