King Mengrai, founder of Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, and co-ruler of Lan Na. His statue stands in Chiang Rai (fig.), whereas the caste used for the head of the statue (fig.) is nowadays on display at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture of the Silpakorn University in Bangkok.
