Thailand

The Luang Poo Oon Chakro Museum in Udonthani is dedicated to a senior monk whose original name was Oon Plooksakun, who was born on 3 October 1922 in Maha Sarakham, where he was ordained as a Mahanikaya monk in 1942.

He was a disciple of Phra Ajaan Man (fig.), i.e. Man Phoorithattoh, a Thera or ‘Elder’, whose name derives from Phoorithatta, which means ‘Dispenser of Wisdom’, and is credited for having recorded the latter's sermons in his personal diary.
