Loi Krathong parade (Chiang Mai)
During the Loi Krathong festival in Chiang Mai, a colourful parade is held.
Besides traditional dress, the parade features candles, lanterns, banners and other objects.
Some of the lanterns are very large and carried on a litter.
Held on the full moon of ‘yih peng’, it is also known as the festival of lights.
The Lan Na style lanterns shown here are known as kohm kwaen lanterns.
