  Garudapterus SkyFlyers

Thailand

SkyFlyers: Wings of Garudapterus is a thrill ride at Asiatique in Bangkok (fig.). The attraction draws inspiration from the prehistoric pterosaur Garudapterus (fig.), employing its scientific name and visual motifs to evoke flight, scale, and prehistoric spectacle within a commercially designed, immersive recreational experience.

The ride structure rises to approximately 135 metres above ground level and operates as a rotating swing ride: passengers are seated in outward-facing suspended chairs attached to a circular gondola, which ascends the central tower before rotating at height. From the apex, riders obtain unobstructed 360-degree views over the historic river corridor, the urban skyline of Bangkok, and prominent landmarks along the Chao Phraya (fig.).

The motion generates centripetal force, extending the swing chains outward and producing a sensation of flight while maintaining a controlled rotational speed.
