Rattanakosin
Bicentennial Monument at the southern end of
Lahn Khon Meuang,
in front of Bangkok City Hall. It consists of a memorial
in the form of a
large sheet
in
metal,
shaped akin to
leather
cowhide sheets used in
nang yai
shadow play (fig.),
and it
bears the carved image of the
emblem
that was designed for the bicentenary of the
city's foundation in 1782 AD (fig.).
