RELIGION & MYTHOLOGY

  Deng Zhong

Malaysia

Deng Zhong in his deified form as a Thunder General, riding a dragon and depicted with crimson hair, an indigo face with a beak, clawed feet and majestic wings.

In this depiction, the dragon is wearing a plaque around his neck that reads Kui Long, referring to a stylized dragon-like creature often seen in ancient Chinese art, especially bronze vessels from the Shang and Zhou dynasties. It combines features of the mythical Kui, a mythological creature, sometimes described as a one-legged monster or spirit in ancient Chinese legends, and long, a dragon.
