Buranathai Buddha Image Foundry
Buranathai Buddha Image Foundry, in Phitsanulok, is named after the founder and owner, a former Master-Sergeant 1st Class (fig.), who in 1967 left his Army career to fully devote himself to his foundry.
It specializes in the casting of bronze Buddha images (fig.), in particular replicas of the Phraphutta Chinnarat image (fig.) from nearby Wat Phra Sri Rattanamahathat (fig.).
It is today the only known production line of its kind in the province. In Thai, it is called rohng loh phra burana thai and the process is known as kaan loh phra.
