Snakes
are
limbless reptiles with a skeleton that consists of a skull and an elongated
spinal column with
between 200 to 400 vertebrae of which
to most a set of ribs is attached. This backbone is in Thai known as
kradook ngu.
Snakes have a very flexible
lower jaw, of which
the two halves are not
rigidly attached, as well as
numerous other joints in
their skull, that allow them
to open their mouths wide
enough to swallow their prey
whole.
