Pong pong seeds have a thin skin which after falling soon decomposes, exposing the fibrous woody tissue of the seed (fig.).

 

Its tree, botanically known as Cerbera odollam has a dark foliage and showy fragrant white flowers. Its kernels called look tihn pet nahm in Thai.
