  Flag 50th Anniversary on the Throne

The 1997 flag for the 50th anniversary on the throne of King Rama IX (fig.). The flag consists of a yellow field, the colour associated with Monday (fig.), the day on which this King was born.

 

The logo consists of the royal seal of King Bhumipon Adunyadet (fig.), the seal of the Chakri Dynasty (fig.), and the Great Crown of Victory (fig.), symbolizing the Monarchy. It includes a two-tiered tray (fig.), often associated with the Thai Constitution (fig.), and is flanked by two White Elephants, each in ceremonial dress and carrying a a white multi-tiered umbrella or chattra (fig.). Underneath is the Thai number 50 (õð) and a blue streamer with a commemorative text in gold, that reads: ‘Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne in 1996’.
