Pla yahng kleua is the name for a dish consisting of a fish covered in pounded salt and then baked or grilled.

 

It could be any type of large fish, but typically tilapia and snake-head fish (fig.) are used. Often the sides of the fish are sliced and herbs are stuffed in its mouth to enhance flavour.
