With an estimated height of at least 4 metres, the
world's largest ox cart is a landmark at
Wat Sam Roi
Yot in
Prachuap Khirikhan
Province. Known in Thai as
kwian,
these two-wheeled carts are typically drawn by a pair of
oxen (fig.),
and were traditionally used to transport paddy to the
market. Thailand's four regions each boast their own
traditional cart designs, reflecting unique local
craftsmanship and styles. This particular cart follows
the design of western central Thailand, known as Kwian
Ratchaburi.
