The Wiang Pa Pao hot springs are located just off the main road between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai at a location with a Khmer-style edifice, an eye-catcher used as an effort to promote OTOP products.

The hot springs themselves are scattered over a wider area, on both sides of the road, and some have been embedded in a landscaped garden.

There are several pools with hot springs on both sides of the road, accommodating to travelers passing by in either direction.

The springs themselves are too hot for comfort but man-made arteries are derived which cool the water down enough for people bathe their feet in it, believing it has beneficial properties.

In addition, there are several smaller pools to which the hot water is redirected and that allows for visitors to boil eggs from small baskets that are sold at the spot.
