Wat Samphao is a temple in Chonburi that is named for a junk that is known in Thai as reua sampao (fig.) and of which replicas are incorporated in the temple's entrance gate, which is flanked by green-faced guardians known as yaks, i.e. ‘giants’.

Adjacent to the ubosot are large statues of Phra Siam Thewathiraat, the guardian spirit of the nation; Kuan Yin, the Chinese goddess of mercy; Phra Siwalih, who attained Enlightenment on the very day of his ordination; and King Rama V (fig.).
