Wat Phra Kaew (fig.) in Bangkok's Phra Nakhon is a royal temple, built against the old palace walls of Phra Rachawang in  (fig.). Unlike most other temples, there are no monks living here.

 

The temple is portrayed on the Thai 1 baht coin (fig.). Although it doesn't have a Sanghavasa, it is considered the most important temple in Bangkok ánd Thailand, and is home to the Emerald Buddha (fig.).
