At the entrance a large standing Buddha image is
erected, known as Phra Phutta Maha Dhamma Racha Chiang Saen Phra Chao Maay
Meuang Chiang Rai.
In the 13th
Century AD, this sanctuary
was under royal
patronage. It features a mixture of
Burmese and
Lan Na-style architecture and
iconography.

On one side of
the entrance are the bonze statues of King Mengrai and his wife
Chao
Nang
Talamae Sri (fig.), who is attributed with
renovating this temple.
