To reach Ban Tham cave temple one has to climb its high stairs and enter the maw of a dragon. The exit of the tunnel at its tail end is at the same time also the entrance to the cave.

The photo above was taken in 1998, the one on the right was made at the end of 2009. Whilst the colours of the dragon have somewhat faded over the years, the stairs have been painted and become more colourful.
