  Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram

Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram in Samut Songkhram, is believed to have been established during the reign of King Rama I, by Queen Amarinthra in honour of her mother, and is also considered the birthplace of King Rama II.

 

The royal remains of the Queen Mother of Queen Amarindra are enshrined here and a statue of King Rama II stands in front of the temple's twenty-recessed prang.

Between 1997 and 1999, the interior walls were adorned with newly painted murals that vividly narrate the life and works of King Rama II, including episodes from his literary contributions.
