Tianma, which is also spelled Tian Mah and literally means ‘Sky-horse’, ‘Heavenly Horse’ or ‘Horse of Heaven’, is the term for a winged horse from Chinese legend, that is able to fly, akin to the Thai creatures called Mah Pihk (fig.).
