Phu Phrabaht (ภูพระบาท)

Thai. His Majesty's Mountain. Name of a Historical Park located in the tambon Meuang Phaan of the amphur Ban Pheu (บ้านผื) in Udonthani province, and which features unusual rock formations, scattered on a 3,430 rai plot of land. Many of those have been made into religious shrines, some reminiscent of the Flintstones' house. Beside this, the park also features dinosaur foot prints and prehistoric cave paintings believed to date back some 6,000 years. The rock formations, especially the mushroom-shaped Ho Nang Usa, i.e. Nang Usa's Watchtower, also referred to as Nang Usa's Earth Pillar (fig.), are the setting for a local folktale called Nang Usa-Thao Barot.
