Paramanuchit Chinorot (ปรมานุชิตชิโนรส)
Thai. Name of the 28th son of King
Rama I, conceived with Lady Chui (จุ้ย), who later was bestowed with the title and name
Thao Songkantaan (ทรงกันดาล). He was born on 11 December 1790 AD as Prince Wasukri (วาสุกรี). He was a Buddhist writer and wrote the royal chronicle Lilit Taleng Phai (ลิลิตตะเลงพ่าย) as a tribute to the bravery of King
Naresuan. He joined the clergy and was the first member of the royal family to be ordained to serve as
Phrasangkaraat, a position he held from
1851 until his death on 9 December 1853, as the seventh Supreme Patriarch of
Siam
in the
Rattanakosin
Period, and
the first patriarch to also have been born in this period. He lived in
Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mang Khalahrahm, i.e.
Wat Poh in Bangkok, and he was posthumously bestowed with the title
Somdet
Phra
Maha
Samana
Chao
(สมเด็จพระมหาสมณเจ้า).
