  Sukhothai Historical Park

Sukhothai Historical Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Old Sukhothai, that spans ca. 70 square kilometers and encompasses the ruins of the ancient capital of the Sukhothai Kingdom, which thrived from the 13th to the 15th centuries.

 

The park is divided into a central zone containing key archaeological sites such as Wat Mahathat (fig.) and the royal palace complex, as well as surrounding areas that feature additional temples and remnants of the Sukhothai Kingdom.
