This Jewel Beetle, with the scientific name Strigoptera bimaculata, is very similar in appearance to the Murayama Jewel Beetle, another metallic wood-borer beetle with the scientific name Chrysochroa maruyamai (fig.). The most noticeable difference is that the elytra of  Strigoptera bimaculata are grooved.
