  Royal Barges (helmsmen)

Thailand

The helmsmen in the Royal Barge Procession always work in pair and are dressed in a green silken jacket decorated with a golden floral design, and a red-and-green cloth with a silver pattern around the waist.

They wear a wine-coloured sarong with silver designs, that is wrapped around the body and tied in a knot near the navel, white socks and black soes, whilst their hat is yellow trimmed with gold, with neck- and earflaps, and fitted with a golden naval emblem and a golden spike.
