Khaay Phetcharat, i.e.
Phetcharat Camp, is a scouting campground
under royal patronage
in
Saraburi,
that has the capacity to host up to 1,000 Scouts.
The camp is
built from natural materials, like
teakwood
and stones gathered from the surrounding mountains and
is dedicated to the youngsters and children
participating in Scout programs of the various provinces
of
Thailand.

The name
Phetcharat means ‘Someone who possesses money and diamonds’, and this is
depicted in the gilded lanterns throughout the compound that show a
horse pulling a wagon with treasure (fig.).
