Peung Thao Kong, also known as Pae Kong (fig.), is the Tae Chew protection god for places, especially with regards to a neighbourhood, a community or a village, whereas the protection god for  land, homes or houses is Di Zhuia (fig.), i.e. the Chinese equivalent of the Thai chao thih, the animist guardian spirit of the land and homes.
