To commemorate the Opening Ceremony of the Nawaminthra Bophit 84th Anniversary Building at Siriraj Hospital. Nawaminthra, which derives from Nawaminthr (นวมินทร์), pronounced Nawamin, and is a compound word made up of Nawam (นวม), a name that could be translated as ‘padded [for protection]’, and In (อินทร์), a synonym of Phaya that can in certain contexts be translated as ‘Patriarch’ or ‘King’, and here refers to a name given to King Rama IX.

Five royal portraits of members of the Royal Family, past and present, who are in some way associated or related to the of Siriraj Hospital and its history: 1. King Chulalongkorn of Siam, i.e. Rama V, who funded and founded Siriraj Hospital, which he named in memory to Prince Siriraj Kakuthaphan (fig.), his son and 59th child, who died of dysentery on 31 May 1887, at the short-lived age of one year and seven months. Behind the King's portrait is a picture of the Sayamin/Syamindra (สยามินทร์) Building at Siriraj Hospital complex, which was built in this King's honour to commemorate the centennial of Siriraj Hospital; 2. Prince Siriraj Kakuthaphan (fig.), the son and 59th child of King Chulalongkorn of Siam, i.e. Rama V, after whom Siriraj Hospital is named.  In the backdrop is an old reuan-style building of the Siriraj Hospital; 3. Prince Mahidol Adulyadej, Prince of Songkhla, and Royal Father to both King Ananda Mahidol, i.e. Rama VIII, and Bhumipol Adulyadej, i.e. Rama IX. He was a medical doctor, widely known as the Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health in Thailand, and the Mahidol University, which has its origins in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital, is named after him. Gehind his portrait is a picture of the Mahidol Bamphen (มหิดลบำเพ็ญ) Administration Building, which he constructed with his personal funds, and that today houses a museum; 4. King Bhumipol Adulyadej, i.e. Rama IX, for whom the new 25-storey Nawaminthra Bophit 84th Anniversary Building at Siriraj Hospital is named on the occasion of his 84th birthday in 2013, with in the backdrop the Siriraj Hospital complex as envisioned with the new high-rise yet to be built; 5. King Maha Vajiralongkorn, i.e. Rama X (fig.), with in the background the new 25-storey Nawaminthra Bophit 84th Anniversary Building at Siriraj Hospital, built for the occasion of his father King Rama IX's 84th birthday, that partially opened in 2019 and was officially opened in 2021, after it became fully operational.
