The
navy compound
has
several
barracks, hangars and dry-docks,
where boats used by the
Royal Thai Navy are built, maintained and
repaired, as well as a Buddhist temple called
Wat Wongsamoon Wihaan (fig.).

In the
reign of King
Rama V,
the
original dry-dock (fig.)
was extended and now its length runs all the way to the
grounds of the temple. Today, it can also be sealed off with a
floodgate that gives direct access to the Chao Phraya
River.
