Moht Amatyakun, the
first supervisor of the Mint, in charge of making money at
Rohng Krasahp Sitthikahn (fig.),
the first ever building used by the
Royal Thai Mint,
from 1860 to 1875, and where he
successfully completed the unfinished installation
of the
very first steam-powered minting machine in the Kingdom after the
British engineer responsible for its installation had fallen ill and died.
For his contribution he
was in 1868 promoted to the position of
Phraya
Krasahp Kitkoson by King
