Marina Bay is a
vibrant and iconic district located in the heart of
Singapore, famous for
its stunning waterfront scenery, its centerpiece being
the
Marina Bay Sands, a landmark three-towered structure
with an observation deck (fig.).
It
is also the home of the Merlion (fig.),
a mythical creature with the head of a
lion
and the body of a
fish,
and
Singapore's official
mascot, a reference to its name, which means ‘Lion City’, and
its location on the sea.
