Kukrit Institute in Bangkok, known in Thai as Satahban Kukrit, is named after Kukrit Pramoht (fig.), a former Premier of Thailand, who was in office from 14 March 1975 to 20 April 1976.

It was officially opened to the public by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, in order to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of M.R. Kukrit’s birth, on 20 April 2011.

It celebrates the life of this extraordinary man, whom in 2009 was named as a World Historic Important Figure by UNESCO, and features his achievements both in politics and in society.
