Kuan Ping, the adapted son of Kuan U (fig.), is said to have been adopted by the Tiger General of Shu, when he was seventeen. His typically depicted holding a present in the form of a gift box.

He was general of the Kingdom Shu Han and served a military post in the Kingdom of Shu (221-263 AD) during the Three Kingdoms era (220-280 AD) of China.
