Kru Krae Sapthawanit was a famous puppeteer from Ayutthaya, who derived hun lakon lek from hun luang and developed it on the model of the Ramayana. Hence, he is considered the father of hun lakon lek puppetry. He first performed at Wang Woradit (fig.).
